(Nashville, TN. - May 16, 2023) - Troy Brown and Mark Oliverius are excited to announce the signing of multi-genre singer/songwriter Mia Brown to their new entertainment group, Big Timber Entertainment (BTE). Mia is a charismatic entertainer - her smile is infectious and her music encompasses an endearing mix of today's Midwest Pop, Club Bangers, 70s FM Rock, and Jazz, all topped with the perfect blend of Country creating a unique style of her very own.
After years of recording and self-promotion, the Wausau, Wisconsin native met her “Dream Team” who share her vision and passion. “Big Timber Entertainment believes in my multi-genre style of music and I couldn't be more excited to be signed with them! I write about whatever I’m feeling at that time and from a genre standpoint, that can be anywhere between Country, Pop, Jazz, or Rock,” Mia reflects. “Mark Oliverius and I have been working on my debut project for about two years. It will be released later this year. We've written the majority of the songs together, and most of the songs come from raw emotion and my real-life situations. I have had the honor and pleasure of co-writing with some of Nashville’s finest songwriters for this project and can't wait to share my new music with the world!"
Oliverius adds, “When I first started working with Mia I was blown away by the velvet smooth texture and the agility of her voice! She handled her lead and background vocals effortlessly with speed, precision, soul, and power! Her attitude, work ethic, kindness, and intelligence are first-rate. Big Timber Entertainment is excited to sign her and we look forward to igniting her career!”
Mia is also a part of BTE's live production That’s 70s Music! where concert-goers can relive the best of times with her and The Nashville Hitmen. Under the musical direction of Oliverius, the cast performs some of the most iconic songs of the 60s and 70s from Linda Ronstadt, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, The Doobie Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Dionne Warwick, to B.W. ABOUT MIA BROWN
Mia Brown was born in Wausau, Wisconsin where she still calls home, splitting her time between Music City for writing appointments and her label's headquarters. She has been singing for as long as she could talk and playing piano since the tender age of 4. During her teenage years, Mia began playing guitar and writing music. She recalls, “I’ve always said that music chose me - I knew early on that this is what I was destined to do.”
Growing up, the entertainers that most influenced and helped mold Mia into the dynamic artist she is today were Amy Winehouse, Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, and Kacey Musgraves. “I love them - all are musical geniuses in my opinion. They are not afraid to be completely out of the box and have a sound of their very own. I admire people who are true to themselves and take pride in embracing their uniqueness. Amy and Steven both use Jazz elements in their music which I find creates a very special sound. I try to incorporate Jazz into my own music when it’s appropriate. My favorite Country singer/songwriter who is newer to the scene is Hailey Whitters. She and Kacey are so unique and clever with their songwriting,” notes Mia. She takes a little something that she has learned along the way from all of her musical heroes and adds to it her own distinctive style to create something unforgettable. “I am always unapologetically myself,” chuckled Mia, who likes to take her listeners on a musical journey of life, love, pain, healing, and joy through the songs that she has written.
Mia Brown is an artist of substance, depth, and integrity. She is mature way beyond her years as has not only faced but conquered challenges that are unfortunately all too familiar with young people today, especially young women. She has a giving heart, loves helping people, and wants to use her personal struggles and platform to make a difference. When Mia is not on stage or writing, it is not surprising that she can be found at the local cancer center where she works to make patients and their loved ones who may not otherwise be having a good day smile.
